  • DISC profiling is a behavioural assessment tool used to understand and analyse human behaviour in various situations. It is based on the DISC model, which was developed by psychologist William Marston in the 1920s. The model categorises behaviour into four primary personality traits: Dominance (D), Influence (I), Steadiness (S), and Conscientiousness (C). These traits form the acronym "DISC."

    Here's a brief overview of each personality trait:

    Dominance (D): People with a dominant personality tend to be assertive, goal-oriented, and competitive. They are often decisive and may take charge of situations. They value results and efficiency.

    Influence (I): Individuals with an influential personality are outgoing, social, and enthusiastic. They excel in interpersonal skills and are often persuasive. They enjoy building relationships and working in collaborative environments.

    Steadiness (S): People with a steady personality are calm, patient, and cooperative. They value stability and tend to be good listeners. They prioritise teamwork and are often reliable and dependable.

    Conscientiousness (C): Individuals with a conscientious personality are detail-oriented, analytical, and focused on accuracy. They value precision and quality in their work. They are often systematic and methodical in their approach.

    DISC assessments involve participants answering a series of questions or statements that help determine their dominant personality traits. Based on the responses, individuals are assigned a profile that reflects their behavioural tendencies. These profiles are often presented as combinations of the four traits, such as "DI," "SC," "IC," and so on. The goal of DISC profiling is to enhance self-awareness, improve communication, and promote effective collaboration among individuals with different personality styles.

    DISC profiling is commonly used in various contexts, including workplace settings, team building, leadership development, and communication training. It can help individuals understand their own strengths and weaknesses and provide insights into how they can work better with others who have different personality styles.
