Micro-Action: The "Personal Power-Up" Goal (Redefining Consistency)

Let's get real. Forget the balance sheet for a sec; this is about igniting you. Because when you're firing on all cylinders, your business benefits big time. We know consistency can feel like climbing Everest when you're used to tripping over pebbles. So, we're not aiming for Everest. We're aiming for the pebble. Repeatedly.

Step 1: Identify Your Personal Power-Up (5 minutes)

Think about what truly energises you, makes you feel confident, sharpens your focus, or levels up a skill for you, not just for your business. This is about building your own personal fuel tank.

Ask yourself: "What's ONE tiny personal goal, outside of direct business metrics, that if I hit it, would give me a massive boost of energy, confidence, focus, or a useful skill?"

  • Crucial Point: If it feels too big, it's already a trap. Think of the smallest possible version of this goal.

    • Instead of: "Go to the gym 3 times this week."

    • Think: "Put on my gym shoes for 2 minutes."

Write down just one that genuinely resonates and feels almost laughably small.

Step 2: Define Your "Un-Fail-able" Micro-Action & "Why" (5 minutes)

This is where we hack consistency. We're not aiming for perfection; we're aiming for proof of existence.

  1. What is the absolute smallest, almost impossible-to-fail action I can take daily (or every other day) towards this goal?

    • Example (from your list): "Consistently getting 7.5 hours of sleep."

      • Un-Fail-able Micro-Action: "Tonight, I will set an alarm for 9:30 PM to remind me to start thinking about winding down." (Not even wind down, just think about it!)

    • Example: "Learn 5 basic chords on a guitar."

      • Un-Fail-able Micro-Action: "Today, I will pick up my guitar for 30 seconds."

    • Example: "Meditate for 10 minutes daily."

      • Un-Fail-able Micro-Action: "Today, I will open a meditation app." (Not even meditate, just open it!)

  2. Why is hitting this tiny micro-action important to me? (Connect it to your "Five Whys" from the previous exercise if possible. How does this minuscule action tie into a deeper personal need or value?)

    • Example (Guitar): "Picking up the guitar for 30 seconds reminds me I'm capable of learning new things, and that confidence spills into learning new business skills."

Step 3: The "Streak of Ones" & Self-Compassion (Ongoing)

This is where you build "consistency for the inconsistent."

  • The "One" Rule: For the next 7-14 days, your ONLY job is to hit that Un-Fail-able Micro-Action once per day (or as often as you defined).

    • If you put on your gym shoes for 2 minutes and then do a full workout, GREAT!

    • If you only put on your gym shoes for 2 minutes and take them off, THAT'S STILL A WIN. You did the thing. You showed up.

  • Track Your "Ones": Put a big "X" on a calendar or a digital tracker every single time you hit your micro-action. Your goal isn't a perfect outcome; it's a perfect streak of Xs.

  • Embrace the "Restart": If you miss a day, it's not failure. It's just a pause. Don't beat yourself up. The next day, you simply start a new "streak of ones" from zero. No guilt, no shame, just the next X.

  • Feel the Ripple: Notice how consistently hitting that tiny micro-action makes you feel. Does it make you more likely to do a little more? Does it chip away at the "I'm inconsistent" narrative?

This isn't about adding more to your plate; it's about finding the smallest, most sustainable leverage point that makes everything else feel a little lighter, a little more achievable. What's your un-fail-able personal power-up going to be?
