Podcasts have become increasingly popular over the years. In fact, according to Edison Research, 104 million Americans listen to podcasts every month. That’s a 37.5% increase from 2020! Additionally, the number of weekly podcast listeners has grown from 22% to 28% in the past year. Podcasts have become a great source of entertainment, education, and information for many people, and businesses are now seeing the value in creating their own.

Benefits of Having a Podcast

So, why should you consider starting a podcast for your business? Here are some of the key benefits:

1. Build your authority - A podcast can establish you as an expert in your field. By sharing your knowledge, insights, and experiences, you can build credibility and trust with your audience.

2. Increase your Know, Like, Trust Factor - The more your audience hears your voice, the more they get to know you. This familiarity can help them develop a connection with you and your brand.

3. Bring you more dream clients - Your podcast can be a pre-qualifier for potential clients. If they listen to your podcast regularly, they already know what you stand for and what you can offer them.

2. Limited series - These are podcasts that run for a set amount of time or number of episodes. This is a great option for businesses that want to dive deep into a specific topic.

3. Private (paid for) as part of a membership - These podcasts are only available to members of your business or those who pay a fee. This is a great option for businesses that want to create a sense of exclusivity and provide value to their members.


How to Get Started

Now that you know the benefits of starting a podcast and the different types of podcasts available, it’s time to get started. Here are a few tips:

1. Be realistic about the time you have to commit - If you’re doing it all yourself, a podcast can be time-consuming. Be sure to plan your time accordingly and set realistic expectations for yourself.

2. Identify your target audience - Who are you creating this podcast for? What kind of content would be of value to them?

3. Choose your podcast format and content - Will your podcast be an interview- style or a monologue? What topics will you cover? What format and length will work best?

4. Invest in the right equipment - you’ll need a good quality microphone to pick up the clear sound of you and your guests speaking without any background buzzing.
